Liam's FIRST Birthday!!!!!

Oh my little monkey... you are ONE today!!!  We're so lucky to have had you here with us for a year so far!

This morning when you woke up (early, as you like to do), Mommy spent some time playing with you before we woke up Grandma (she was staying over so that she could celebrate your birthday, too!).  Soon, Kuya Eli and Daddy joined us.  I made you cinnamon pancakes as a treat, and you wanted nothing to do with them.  Oh well!  We opened up a few of your presents (you had zero clue how to open them and had no interest whatsoever in trying... Kuya Eli quickly took over).  Mommy and Daddy gave you a play phone (since you love to play with Mommy's so much!) and Kuya Eli gave you a fun roller coaster toy.  Grandma gave you a book, a super fun tunnel that you and Kuya Eli can climb in, and something else fun that totally escapes my tired mind at this moment.  Aunt Maureen gave you a fun airplane toy!

Mommy, Kuya Eli and Grandma went out to get you a ton of helium balloons while you were napping and when you woke up, you were excited (and confused!) to see them.  (later that night, mommy, daddy, tito tommy and tita kathryn had great fun breathing in the helium to make funny voices for you!)

We were going to go out and do something really special for your special day, but we were having a lot of fun just playing together inside, so that's what we did.  After your second nap, Tita Kathryn and Tito Tommy came over to join us for dinner, and they gave you two really fun books!  You had your first cake (which you smashed between your fingers and threw to the floor... it was a lot of fun!) and loved it!

It was a special day with a special boy.  We're going to have a 1st birthday/father's day BBQ at Tita Ann's house on Sunday with Lolo, Lola, Lola Lumen, Lolo Willie, Tita Jenny, Tita Ann, Tito Ben, Kuya Jaymin, Ate Linamarie and maybe more!  It will be fun!
