My life in 30 minutes

People keep asking me when we are going to put the condo on the market.  The answer is... when someone can come and take my kids away.  I cannot get anything done here.  Today is the first day in three weeks that we have absolutely no plans for the day.  We've been traveling and visiting with traveling friends and today, I decided I was going to get caught up on stuff around the house.  Well, here's an example of what my day is like with these three little ones.

Here's what I have accomplished in the last 3 hours:
-Put away some diapers
-Cleaned out one shelf of brielle's clothes that she has outgrown

Here's what the last 30 minutes has looked like, to give my future self a glimpse into what it was like with three kids four and under.

I realize I have been awake for two hours and haven't eaten.  Go put a bagel in the toaster.  Liam follows me.  He wants to eat. Again.  He already spilled his bowl of Kix with milk all over and we've already had one outfit change, so I am reluctant to give him the cheerios he is asking for.  I decide to pour like 3 drops of milk on there to at least keep it dry.  He's contained in his chair.  Good news.  I sit down to talk to my friend on the computer.  5 seconds later, eli tells me he needs paper for his art project. Get up...go get paper. Sit down. Type a few words.  He needs scissors.  Got em. Sit down.  Liam wants another spoon. His has disappeared.  Got it.  Sit down. Type a few words.  Eli needs tape. Got it.  Sit down.  Liam has dumped his cheerios all over the place.  Ignore it.  Try to type.  Remember I have a bagel.  Go to get it...take it out.  Brielle is crying... she just threw up on herself.  Clean her up.  Liam wants out of the high chair.  Go find wipes to clean him up.  Brielle is hungry.  Go warm up a bottle.  Liam wants more cheerios.  No.  "PLEAAASE!"  No. Eli starts crying because Liam has taken his glue stick.  Liam is running around with the glue stick.  Eli attacks him.  Crying, screaming.  Break up the fight. Find the glue stick.  Liam is mad.  Wants a sticker.  Tell him to go sit down. Find a sticker.  Brielle's bottle... check to see if it is ready.  Get her, the bottle, the bib.  Sit down to feed her.  More fighting.  Biting. Hitting.  Put the bottle down. Break up the fight.  Try to put Liam in the corner for biting. He gets right up.  Brielle is crying because she's hungry.  Go sit down to feed her.  Liam climbs up on the table and starts knocking everything off.  Try to feed her, but she's pushing the bottle out.  Go put her down.  Eli tells me he wet his pants.  Tell him to take his clothes off.  I hear the toilet seat banging... Liam is in the bathroom, throwing who knows what in the toilet.  Get him out of the bathroom and into the living room, where Eli is running around naked.  Go get an outfit for Eli.  Liam follows me and tries to get up on the bed where I have piles of folded clothes.  I make him leave.  Tantrum.  Brielle has a poopy diaper.  Liam has a poopy diaper.  Liam runs away from me.  Eli is still half naked.  Liam has dumped out all of his toys.  Brielle's diaper is done... she wants to smile and talk and play.  Catch Liam, change him.  He goes off and starts eating cheerios from the floor.  Brielle is hungry.  Go get her bottle and see my bagel sitting there.  Cut open an avocado and spread it on... Eli is watching. He wants to eat something.  Not now.  Bring bagel and bottle over... feed brielle and myself at the same time.  Liam and Eli are rolling around, fighting on the couch.  Liam has Eli's paper dinosaurs and is crumbling them up.  Pillows are being thrown.  Stop feeding brielle. rescue the dinosaurs. Go back to Brielle.  She is falling asleep.  STand up to rock her and she is out.  Screaming and fighting from the boys. She wakes up.  I lay her down, awake, in the crib, and go break up the fight...again.  Brielle starts crying. She's tired.  Give Liam a sticker..he gets quiet.  Threaten to turn off Eli's TV show.  He sits still for 10 seconds.  HOpe that Brielle will put herself to sleep, and she does.

Repeat, repeat, repeat.  If I sit down at my computer, like I am now, it means that toys are being spread out all over the floor.  I don't bother cleaning up til the end of the day because they just dump it out again and again.

They are actually playing nicely together right now.  Whew.

So why is it that I don't get anything done??  :)
