I had Eli's parent teacher conference on Tuesday and all went well (despite me having to bring all three kids with me!). Eli's doing great academically and is a pretty good kid all around. He's still having trouble containing his energy (big surprise) but is always willing to correct his behavior and is getting a little better. He's started name-calling in school, which they are working on, but thank goodness he isn't pulling the "I'm not listening to you" stuff he is doing here.
I tried to make a copy of the report card, but my printer isn't working, so I'm going to write all of the comments here. I want these for his little scrapbook.
Eli has a passion for both fictional stories and information books. He loves to draw, write, listen to and act out.
Eli continues to demonstrate many exciting early reading skills.
Eli is writing words independently! He is off to a great start.
Eli has a mind bent around problem-solving.
Eli is doing careful noticing of details in the changing natural world, as well as our class lima beans.
Eli has made a lot of progress with social problem-solving.
Eli continues to love to hop, jump, and play any action-games.
Eli has been working hard to control his body at the right times, but it remains a challenge. Trying again seems to help, as does taking a deep breath and thinking "how would I feel if..."
He got 3s for everything (meets grade-level expectations) except for listening, speaking and language, science and physical activity, all of which he got 4s (exceeds grade-level standards).
Pretty good report card, buddy!
