Liam at 2 years, 8 months

Wow... Liam's already 2 and a half and I totally missed that.  Lol... or maybe I just forgot.  I told someone in the park two days ago that he's not quite 2 and a half... oops.  He's PAST 2 and a half.

Anywho.... What Liam's up to these days:
-It's very cute watching his speech develop.  He's grasping the concept of sentences but isn't always there yet.  For example... he likes to ask "Daddy go?"  instead of "Where did Daddy go?"  Just now, he said "Are you?" instead of "Where are you?"  His favorite things to say these days are "Oh yeah?"  and "Now what?"  He says oh yeah after you tell him anything.  For example... "Daddy go, mommy?"  me: "Daddy's at work."  L: "Oh yeah?"  It's very cute.

He's VERY into darth vader and light sabers right now and makes everything (legos especially) into light sabers.  Today, when we were upacking the groceries (his favorite thing to do...he's always been my little unpacking helper), he found a bunch of leeks and said "SWORDS, MOMMY!!!"  Ha.

He's gotten very rough with Brielle lately, and I think it's cause she's been standing a lot and doesn't look as much like a little baby.  He pushes her over a lot, puts cushions on her head, takes toys away from her and tries to stand on her.  He especially likes runing over her with his bike or scooter.  Sigh.  And so it begins.  Things that Eli does to her, he now tries to do to Brielle.  Birth order.

He likes sharing foods with me, especially yogurt with granola ("share mommy wogurt?") and chips and salsa.  I love that he likes chips and salsa. If I make a bagel for myself, he has half, and he loves it when there is cottage cheese on there.

He LOVES our neighbor, Traci.  He loves going to her apartment (she has a one year old with fun toys!) and seeing her.  She just came up to drop something off and he wanted so badly to follow her that he climbed up and unlocked both locks on our door.  Sigh.

He loves hitting and kicking Eli.

It's not a good day for Liam unless all of the cushions are off of the couch.

Thank goodness he lets me dress him in anything I want to dress him in.  No complaints about pants or socks or anything.  I'm enjoying this while it lasts.

He LOVES his baths and loves "Swimming" in the tub.

He likes to just watch the theme songs on shows and then asks me to change it.  He especially likes the theme song for Eloise.

He gets upset when he sees/hears anyone crying or looking sad.  He always points and says "Mama!" as in "he needs his mama."  When he himself is crying, however, he always asks for "Grandma!!!"

He is still addicted to applesauce and stickers and I think he always will be. :)

I have completely given up trying to put him down for a nap, but most days he gets VERY cranky around 2pm and 75% of the time, he'll go lay down on the couch and fall asleep.  Sometimes he will knock out in the stroller if we go out in the late afternoon.

He LOVES Elephant and Piggie books.  He, who is virtually inacapable of sitting still for more than 10 seconds, will gladly sit down when we're reading those.  He laughs and laughs and even knows a lot of the words.

He's started to try to sing songs and this week has started singing everyone Happy Birthday.  His version goes a little like "Birday to youuuuuuu. Birday to youuuuuuu!"  He also likes trying to sing Three Blind Mice.

He LOVES Batman.  When he plays with his guys, it's usually with Batman or a batman villain.

He still very much enjoys dumping out all of his toys.  He likes to play with them for 2-3 minutes and then comes over and demands that I get something else out of the closet.  I always tell him that if he wants his legos, he has to clean up his train tracks.  His response? "NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!" /begin screaming fit.

He likes to color on things.... the table, the floor, etc.  He's dangerous.  He also does not like to put marker caps back on.  Eli likes to draw ALL the time and Liam always wants to do what Eli is doing, so this makes it quite challenging for me at times.  Yesterday, we painted, and like he always does, he painted his arm and belly.  He was then delighted to get a bath in the morning.

He's always sat in his chair slightly away from the table since his seat has it's own little table.  We moved him to the big table last week.  The jury's still out on that decision.  He very much enjoys throwing food at Eli.  Eli very much enjoys encouraging this.

He looks ADORABLE in his little red hat.  Now that the weather is colder, we've been putting it on when we go out.  He wears it about 75% of the time.  It's only a matter of time before we lose it, because when he's done, he's DONE...he rips it off and throws it.

A super cute thing... sometimes, if he does something very bad (spills food on the floor on purpose, etc...), I'll say to him "NOT COOL, Liam!"  to which he always replies, with an adorable little smile "Not cool, mommy, not cool!"  Lol.

He likes to walk around with boxes on his head.  He thinks he's a robot when he does that and walks around saying "Wobot. Wobot."

He does not at all get the concept of Time Out and I literally have to hold him in the corner for whatever time I want him to stay there.

As I'm typing this, this is what he did... carried a box over, set up Batman and a couple of bad guys, covered them with my coat and knocked them over.  The conversation went as follows "Oh no! Oh no!  Poke EYES! Hide!  Nooo."  Lol.  He still loves saying "poke eyes."

His favorite thing to do, and totally connected to dumping things out, is making traps for things.  When he's dumping out a box, it's usually to cover up whatever item (which, sadly, sometimes is Brielle) he wants to "trap."

He always keeps it interesting around here, thats for sure!
