Some days are very challenging. This morning, for example, I got to deal with this:
Eli had gone to the bathroom and like usual, came out completely naked, not flushing the toilet or washing his hands. I made him go back in there and he said he wanted to be alone. Tired of his stall tactics, I said no and wiped him and put the toilet paper in the potty. Well, this was the end of his world. HE wanted to put the toilet paper in there. TOO BAD, I said, and told him to wash his hands. I went off to finish feeding Brielle. A few minutes later, Eli came over to me with wet hands, saying he had taken the toilet paper out of the potty. WHAT? Yes. He went digging in the potty and got the wet toilet paper out of the YUCKY potty. He then refused to wash his hands, kicking and screaming the whole time. I responded by putting his naked little self in the shower and washing his hands that way. He of course FREAKED OUT and started screaming that he would wash his hands. So I dried him off and put him in front of the sink and left. What did he do next? Put his hands BACK in the potty (now flushed, but still) so that they could get dirty again so HE could wash his hands. Um, NO. I took him to the sink to wash his hands and he again refused, so back into the shower he went. Repeat. Sigh.
Sometimes its really hard to be a mommy.
Oh. My. Word. That child is too smart for his own good. Have mercy.
