Happy Birthday, Eli!!!!
You're THREE! You've been practicing saying it for weeks and we've been building up to your "big boy birthday" forever... and here it is! Last night, Daddy and Tita Kathryn put together your big boy bed and you were so excited you could hardly stand it. You were literally standing there with your pillow and blanket, waiting til you could sit on the bed. You had no problems giving up your crib to Liam (thank goodness!) and slept pretty well for your first night! Your bed is right next to my side of the bed, and at one point, I looked over and saw that your legs were on the floor and your head was on the bed... like you were kneeling... but you were fast asleep. I gently helped you back into bed and you fell back to sleep immediately. :)
We celebrated with Grandma and Tito Tommy/Tita Kathryn last night and had a FULL day of celebrating today! When you woke up, we gave you our big present (a scooter and a Spider-Man helmet!!) and you opened a bunch of fun presents from Grandma and Aunt Maureen. Daddy made you a special breakfast of all the things you like (bacon, waffles) and then we headed to Muscoot Farm for your party! We met up with Tita Rachna, Tito Nick, Dexter and Quinn, Tita Heather, Sawyer and Jasper, and Tita Jamie and George! Grandma came, too, and we had TONS of fun. The weather was absolutely perfect and we had a really nice time. We walked around with the kids and saw all of the animals. You had a ton of fun running around with Sawyer and after we ate and had cupcakes, you ran around with Sawyer and Dexter some more, playing ball and running and jumping off of high walls.
After the farm, we got in the car and headed to Staten Island for your SECOND party. We went to a really fun place called Miller's Field, where we set up in a picnic area with a grill and had a BBQ with Tita Ann, Tito Ben, Kuya Jaymin, Linamarie, Lolo & Lola, Grandma, Lola Lumen and Lolo Willy! We played on the playground, ran around and played football and soccer, had more spider-man cupcakes (both parties were spider-man themed) and you got to fly your very first kite! We topped the day off by getting you some strawberry ice cream, your favorite. You also had some bites of mommy and daddy's italian ices.
It was SUCH a treat to get to spend the whole day together, and even more of a treat to have Grandma with us for the whole day!!!
You're THREE! I'm so proud of the little guy you are... mr. social, mr. funny, mr. happy, mr. smart guy. You're a super cool kid and I'm very glad you're mine! I love you very, very much!
Love,
Mommy
