More new things for Liam

Today has been a big day in terms of development for Liam. I feel like he's growing up SO fast. Today, he did a bunch of new things and I wanted to make sure to jot them all down.

For the first time, he stood for about 2 seconds without holding onto anything. He was playing with his keys and holding onto his little basket and then just let go. Of course he came crashing down, but was definitely standing for 2 seconds. SCARY. I'm hoping this is just a fluke, cause I'm not ready to have a walker!!! He's only 8 months old!

He's been standing and only holding on with one hand for about a week or so and feels totally comfortable with it. He's also gotten much better about going back and forth between standing and sitting. It's still not graceful, but he's not as hesitant as he was when he was first learning.

He's juuust starting to cruise along the couch or table and can take a few steps.

Over the past two days, he's been hanging out in high kneeling without falling.

Today, he also did deep squats for the first time... like he couldn't decide if he wanted to stand or sit and just kept going back and forth. It was cute to watch.

For the past three days, he's been pretty cranky because he's cutting his first two (bottom) teeth! If you're looking at him, the one on the right has come through... the other one is still trying to come through. He hasn't been sleeping so great as a result, and is back to waking up at 2:45 and then again around 5:30 or so. This morning, he woke up at 5 and was FULL of energy.... he's almost like frantic these days... turbo crawling, pulling himself to stand on everything, dumping out toys..... he's very, very rarely still.

He does this cute thing with his tongue, especially when you make him smile... he always flips it over and pulls it to the right side.

He also learned today how to pull the wipes out of the wipe container and has been doing that so he can chew on them (I think it feels good on his gums).

He LOOOOOVES the cats and is always trying to chase them/touch them. I held Riley today so he could pet her and he was SOOOOOO excited. I don't remember Eli having the same kind of interest in them.

He's been able to eat more finger foods and I've been giving him pieces of beans, bread, cheese, fruits. Tonight I'm going to give him edamame for the first time.

Ok...off to finish dinner!
